Who runs this site
Aftertaste is an independent project. We have not registered a company for it. For privacy questions, emailonrecord@v19.tech. We will update this notice if the operator changes.
Information we handle
Reading and searching does not require you to give us a name or create an account. Search suggestions run in your browser. If you open the full results page, your query appears in its URL and may be saved in browser history and ordinary hosting logs.
If you email a correction or question, we receive your email address, message and anything you attach. We use it to examine the issue, reply and maintain an accurate correction record. We do not publish your message or contact details as part of a place record without a separate editorial decision and, where needed, your permission.
On your device
The site saves up to five recently viewed place IDs and your home illustration choice in your browser's local storage. Short visit and loading state can be kept in session storage. You can clear these through your browser settings.
If you choose nearby results, your browser asks for location permission. The site uses the coordinates in your browser to calculate distances; our application does not receive your precise coordinates through a nearby search endpoint. You can deny or revoke permission in your browser.
Hosting, maps and links
Cloudflareserves the site and may process request information such as IP address, device details and requested pages for delivery and security. MapLibre displays maps usingOpenFreeMaptiles and fonts; loading a map can send your IP address and the visible map area to that provider. Email is handled by the provider behind our mailbox.
Links to official sources, archives, X, Instagram, Google Maps and other sites take you to services with their own privacy practices. We do not control what those services collect after you open them.
How long we keep it
Browser storage stays on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to investigate, explain and document an issue, or to meet a legal obligation. Hosting and email providers apply their own operational retention periods. Contact us if you want an email exchange reviewed for deletion.
Your choices
You can read without using nearby, clear local and session storage, and avoid external links. To ask what personal information we hold from an email exchange, request correction or deletion where applicable, or raise a privacy concern, write toonrecord@v19.tech. Tell us enough to identify the exchange. We may need to verify that it is yours before responding.
Editorial errors in a public record can be reported throughCorrections. Applicable law may give you additional rights or require us to retain some information.
