The Nizam Club

In a post dated 25 September 2024, the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana reported inspecting The Nizam Club, Saifabad, on 24 September 2024 and did not report an action specific to it. Its findings are quoted below.

  “FBO found operating food business without any valid FSSAI license.”

• Records and certificates

  “Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers, Pest Control Records for premises & Water Analysis Report for RO water used for food preparation were not available with the FBO.”

• Pests

  “Live cockroach infestation observed inside kitchen premises.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Water seepage observed from ceiling directly over grinding area.”

• Storage and refrigeration

  “Refrigerator doors were found found broken and joints were rusted. Food articles stored were found covered but not labelled.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Drains were found clogged and water stagnation observed.”

• Colours and additives

  “Synthetic food colors found inside kitchen and upon enquiry FBO stated to have used them for Chinese items. Hence discarded on the spot.”

• Adulteration

  “Cosmetic Rose water was found in store area and suspected of being used in pudding preparation as per FBO statement. Hence discarded on the spot and instructed to use Food Grade Rose water only.”

• Spoiled raw material

  “Beetle infestation observed in wheat flour & urad dal inside store room.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Dustbins found open at few points without proper lids.”
