Sri Santosh Foods

In a post dated 15 December 2024, the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana reported inspecting Sri Santosh Foods, Yenugonda, Mahabubnagar, on 14 December 2024 and said licence suspension proceedings were initiated. Its findings are quoted below.

The authority's words “The license of the establishment is being suspended as per the provisions of FSS Act, 2006.”

• Labelling

  “Food products were being packed with labels mentioning incorrect and inactive food license, and lacked mandatory labeling requirements like manufacturing and expiry date.”

• Storage and refrigeration

  “Food ingredients like groundnuts were stored in urea bags, which is hazardous and prohibited for food handling, posing significant risk of contamination and food poisoning.”

• Spoiled raw material

  “Pest-infested flour and fungal infected potatos worth Rs. 26,000 were found and discarded.”

• Colours and additives

  “Reused oil and synthetic food colors, not permitted under food safety regulations, were being used in the preparation of snacks.”
