Shyam Singh Chat Bhandar

In a post dated 26 July 2024, the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana reported inspecting Shyam Singh Chat Bhandar, Begum Bazaar, on 26 July 2024 and said a notice would be issued. Its findings are quoted below.

• Licence

  “The FBO obtained FSSAI Registration certificate instead of State License, even though his sales exceed the prescribed limit.”

• Pests

  “Live rats infestation observed near food preparation area.”

• Colours and additives

  “FBO found in possession of synthetic food colors and upon enquiry stated that they are being used in preparation of masala water for Pani Puri. Hence discarded those food articles and food colors.”

• Food handlers

  “Food handlers were found without any hairnets, gloves and aprons.”

• Storage and refrigeration

  “Food articles like Curd and Noodles were stored inside the refrigerator without any covering and labelling.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Premises was not fitted with mesh and doors are not close fitted to avoid entry of pests. Dustbins were found open without any lids and houseflies found hovering inside premises.”

• Records and certificates

  “Medical fitness certificates for food handlers and pest control records for the premises are not available with FBO.”
