In a post dated 10 August 2024, the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana reported inspecting Moon Bean Restaurant & Bar, Malakpet, on 9 August 2024 and did not report an action specific to it. Its findings are quoted below.

  “Live cockroach infestation observed inside kitchen and store room premises.”

• Expired stock

  “Expired food articles like Ginger Garlic Paste (5kg), Button Mushroom (0.8kg) & 1 Milk Packet were found.”

• Colours and additives

  “Synthetic food colors, suspected of being used in nonveg food articles, found and discarded on the spot.”

• Storage and refrigeration

  “Some of the food articles stored inside refrigerator were not covered and not labelled.”

• Records and certificates

  “Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers and pest control records for the establishment were not available.”

• Food handlers

  “Food handlers were found without haircaps and gloves.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Dustbins were found open without proper lids.”
