Central Kitchen of Sri Chaitanya educational institutes (Operated by M/s Sri Vasista Educational Trust)

In a post dated 24 January 2025, the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana reported inspecting Central Kitchen of Sri Chaitanya educational institutes (Operated by M/s Sri Vasista Educational Trust), Khanamet, Madhapur, on 24 January 2025 and said its licence was suspended. Its findings are quoted below.

The authority's words “the license of the establishment has been suspended by the concerned Designated Officer, with immediate effect.”

• Records and certificates

  “Water analysis reports, Pest Control records and Fostac certificates of employees were not provided.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Refrigerators were not cleaned properly and were found to be unhygienic.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Flooring was found to be patchy and wet with littering of food waste at some places.”

• Pests

  “Drains in the kitchen floor are found to be broken at places and are also not fitted to meshes to prevent entry of insects”

• Premises hygiene

  “Walls were found to be patchy at places with broken tiles and it was also found to be greasy.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Exhaust was found to be greasy and unclean.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Dustbins were found in open condition.”

• Pests

  “Doors are not close fitted to prevent entry of pests. The grills between the walls and the ceiling were not fitted with meshes to prevent the entry of insects.”

• Labelling

  “Packed Nut Meg was found to be unlabeled.”

• Storage and refrigeration

  “Most of the food articles were found to be stored on ground instead of pallets. Food and non food articles were stored together.”

• Expired stock

  “Kaju Nuka (125 Kg) expired on 17.01.2025 were seized.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Walls of the storage were found to be patchy at places and were also found to be unclean.”

• Pests

  “Live cockroach infestation and rodent feces were observed at several places and no rodent traps were found in the storage.”

• Food handlers

  “Food handlers were found to be without aprons, gloves etc.”

• Licence

  “The unit has (12) transport vehicles but the FSSAI license of the FBO does not include transport category and there is also no separate FSSAI license for transport vehicles.”
