Alpha Hotel

In a post dated 20 June 2024, the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana reported inspecting Alpha Hotel, Secunderabad, on 18 June 2024 and said further action would be taken. Its findings are quoted below.

The authority's words “As per Clause 62 of FSS Act 2006, a case will be booked on the FBO, with a punishment upto 3 months imprisonment and fine upto Rs. 1 Lakh.”

• Storage and refrigeration

  “Improper storage of raw meat & semi prepared food articles in refrigerator with possibility of cross-contamination.”

• Premises hygiene

  “Unhygienic conditions like open dustbins, plastering flakes on ceiling were observed.”

• Labelling

  “Alpha brand icecream and bread packets were found without manufacturing date and batch numbers. Dust Tea powder packets also observed without batch numbers.”

• Pests

  “Kitchen premises was not fitted with proper insect-proof screen.”

• Other finding

  “The FBO hindered the food safety officials during inspection and refused to sign the inspection report at the end.”
